Depends what the basic ingredients are. Are you going for a main dish, appetizer, dessert? How do we know what's in your cabinets and fridge?

A little vague so I'm including a few simple recipes that have ingredients you can add/subtract/substitute. You sound like you can cook so I'm sure you can figure out what variations are needed for ingredients you have on hand.

Sausage stuffed mushrooms

30 medium mushrooms
½ lb pork sausage
½ c. mozzarella cheese, shredded
¼ c. seasoned breadcrumbs
Parsley to garnish

Remove and chop stems of mushrooms, set aside. In skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until well browned. With slotted spoon, remove sausage to paper towels to drain. In same skillet cook mushroom stems until tender. Remove from heat, stir in sausage, breadcrumbs and cheese. Preheat oven to 450 . Fill caps and bake for 15 minutes. Garnish with parsley.

Cheese Stuffed Breadsticks

12 string cheese sticks (1 pkg)
1 pkg puff pastry sheets, thawed
1 egg
1 tbsp water
Parmesan cheese
Marinara sauce

Unfold one pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Cut into six 5 by 3 inch rectangles. Repeat with second sheet of pastry. Place one unwrapped cheese stick on a long end of the pastry, fold in sides and roll up. Press gently at seam to seal. Place rolls seam-side down on work surface. Mix egg and water together. Brush tops of rolls with egg wash. Dip the tops in parmesan cheese and place cheese-side up 1 inch apart on a lightly greased baking sheet. Prick the tops with a fork six times down the length of the rolls. Bake at 400  for about 17 minutes or until golden brown. Some cheese may ooze out. Serve with warm marinara sauce.

Bacon Chedder Puffs

1 pkg Frozen Puff Pastry Sheets (2 sheets)
1 c. finely shredded Cheddar cheese (4 oz.)
1 lb bacon, cooked and crumbled
½ c. prepared ranch salad dressing
2 tbsp chopped fresh chives

Thaw pastry sheets. Preheat oven to 400 . Lightly grease two large baking sheets, set aside. Unfold one pastry sheet onto a lightly floured surface. Roll out into a 12 inch square, cut into 36 (2 inch) squares. Prick squares several times with fork. Repeat with second sheet of puff pastry. Bake for 8 minutes or until slightly puffed and golden. Press down centers of pastry squares if necessary. Top each pastry with about 1 tsp each bacon and cheese. Bake for 5 more minutes or until cheese is melted. Garnish with dressing and chives. Serve warm.

Tailgate Chili Dip

1 can Hormel Turkey Chili without beans
1 package cream cheese

Heat cream cheese and chili. Stir together. Serve with tortilla chips.

Vegetable Pizza

2 packages refrigerated crescent rolls
1 tub dill vegetable dip
Shredded cheddar cheese
Assorted fresh vegetables

Press crescent rolls out on pizza pan and seal the cracks. Bake at 350  for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool. Spread crust with dill vegetable dip. Finely chop veggies and sprinkle over crust. Press down on veggies to set into dip. Sprinkle with shredded cheese. Cut and serve.

White Chili (serve with tortilla chips as a dip)

1 small jar medium salsa
1 block pepper jack cheese
2 chicken breasts cooked and chopped
1 jar great northern white beans

Cut cheese into small cubes and mix with other ingredients in kettle. Heat until thoroughly melted and combined. This can be eaten as a soup or served with tortilla chips as a dip. If you want less spice use Monterey jack cheese in place of pepper jack and mild salsa instead of medium.

Hot Spinach/Artichoke dip

½ c. sour cream
½ c. mayonnaise
½ c. grated parmesan cheese
½ c. cubed mozzarella cheese
1-2 tsp minced garlic
1 – 10 oz. package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed of its juices
1 – 14 oz. can artichoke hearts, chopped
1 tomato, seeded and finely diced

Combine all ingredients except tomato and place in shallow casserole dish. Bake at 325  for 15-20 minutes. Sprinkle top with chopped tomato. Serve with tortilla or pita chips!

Good Luck!
