Besides something that works with your color scheme, as mentioned, you have to decide if you want the curtains/drapery to not stand out, or if you want that to be something that brings a little pattern into your room.

If you want it to blend in with the wall, pick curtains/drapes that are similar in color to your wall color. If you want some pattern, then the sky's the limit. Do you like stripes, geometrics, florals, etc. So, if for instance, you have a gold sofa and loveseat a red and gold stripe curtain would stand out. This would also allow you to bring in some red pillows and a throw for the accent color.

1] buy the same print as your bedding
2] match the wall color
3] match one of the colors in the bedding/wallpaper/paint design
4] buy sheer white or lace
5] just use blinds and decorate around the frame with stencils
in some of the room colors
