It's my chant, given to me by a hindu priest. He told me that it was not important what it meant, but it was important for me to say it every day.

I can't tell you the meaning but:

It is probably a mantra, and it is to take your mind off of other thought, allowing your mind to be focused, and at rest.
The next step is to eventually shed the mantra and clear the mind of all thought.
This is when true meditation takes place.
The next step is to develop true prayer, and for this you will need to consult the one that originally gave you the mantra.
Hopefully the one that gave you the mantra is a Fully Realized Human Being, and can then show you the way to true inner peace and contentment.

Sound difficult, you bet it is, and this is a tough path to follow!
I hope you are aware that Hinduism is a religion and this is the path you are choosing to follow.

I cant even find this chant on a google , let alone find meaning sorry
are you sure the spelling is correct ?
