so if i asked a person.. ¿Con quien vive? it would translate to .. WHo do you live with? 1st person

Who does he/she live with?

No, It is not first person.

vive = he/she lives.

él/ella vive en una casa roja.
he/she lives in a red house.

It would be: who do you live with? Only if you mean

"usted" or you formal.

that can't be first person, that would be referring to yourself.

con quien vive means with whom does he/she/you formal live?
although technically i would say con quienes vive because it implies that there may be more than one person

with = con
who = quien
lives = vive

is in the second person singular

"hablas a quien" means "who are you talking to?" it's better translated this way: "¿Con quién estas hablando?"
