i dont want to buy a pellet gun oil/air gun oil and i have mineral oil at home could i use that?

Yes you can. You can also use Marvel Mystery Oil. If you look at the ingredients used to make the common gun and air rifle oils you will see there is no difference.

It depends on what kind of gun.
Spring piston, NO!!! You will fry the piston seal.
Pump guns, NO!!! It will eat the valve seal.
Co2's, don't require oil.
You shouldn't use any kind of oil except, silicon oils.
Then again, most air guns today don't really require
to be oiled except pivot points, that's where you use
silicon oil.

I use Three (3*) in one oil......
