One could make a strong argument that they were.

Why? Hitler gave them a strong patriotic national pride. He caused the rebuilding of Germany following a period of severe depression and shame.

Despite the warnings of the "hawks" that the military buildup in Germany was a threat to peace, European lawmakers not only failed to act against it, but gave him the Sudetenland of Czechoslovakia. It contained the best defenses of attack from Germany and defanged the best chance of stopping/slowing him in a conflict. (The Czechs had the 2nd largest Army in Europe.)

Germans had an experienced warrior mentality (true up until the end of the cold war.) but they're finally getting their feet wet again.

The military and economic buildup was very successful in both parts which meant that Germany had a huge military and economic infrastructure.

Their excellent engineering helped in the development of new weapon systems.

Come to think of it, one could draw some parallels between Japan and Germany of pre WWII to modern day China.

In some terms they were the most powerful, they had some of the best weapons, the best economy, most land, and a huge army... In the otherhand, their leader, Hitler, went crazy... and a country is only as powerful as their leader. If he had not made some poor decisions, he could have won the war.

By the way it ddint really take 10 countries to fight him, there were some rebel groups in some countries that helped, mainly the dutch, plus the USSR, Britain, and USA. France didnt really fight... they gave up after 2 weeks. I would say in all there were 4 countries against him, and 3 on his team.

Why did it take four years for the north to win in the american civil war, though the north was far superior?Six years for a war is pretty short, WWI took four years on a much smaller scale (without the pacific involved).Wars in the middle ages took even longer, think of the hundred-years war between England and France or the 30-year war in germany.Gathering troops and making plans for the normandy landing alone took more than a year, six years is really not that long, compared to other wars.

It is difficult to say. The Germans were very powerful and did conquer much of europe using blitzkrieg, a stategy never before seen. it was difficult to defend against. I think with time they would have defeated Great Britain if the Americans had not stepped in. Germany could havegone far if they had not made critcal mistakes. In the end though i do not think Germany could have defeated America in a one on one all out battle. The U.S. is far away and their stategy of attacked wouldn't have been effivient. The U.S. had a greater ability and resources. If it had been one on one like the U.S. and japan Germany could have quite possibly been getting nuked as well. Nevertheless it is hard to tell if germany would have come out on top if they had not made those mistakes. They could have conquered europe, but most likely never the west.

Because after Hitler came to power he started to re-arm and militarize before anyone else (this broke the Treaty of Versailles). The economy was in a depression but the militarization and modernazation that Hitler instituted brought the country great military power. At the beggining of WW II anyone would have thought that Germany would win. They should have but Hitler made mistakes that cost the Germans (Operation Barbarosa etc.). IN operation Barbarosa he attacked the Russians which was not smart. He was now fighting a war on 2 fronts and their is one rule of thumb in war: Never fight Russia in a land war. It is cold and miserable and Germany was defeated from the combined (main) efforts of the U.S., United Kingdom, and Russia.

It took so long for the allied troops to get rid of the third reich because they had so many followers and they and so much controll over many countries that fought fo them out of fear. The third reich was so powerfull because they were able to build up for about seven years before the allied troops finally got together and got rid of the Germans but by that time they had gotten so much power that it was hard to stop them.

They also managed to get their own soldiers killed or captured at a phenomenal rate.

Hitler was stupid to try and fight on two fronts at once, he also wasted a lot of men and material in the African Campaign.

He basically committed one of the worst mistakes a dictator can, he never listened to his military advisers, he went to far to fast and stretched is supply lines thin.

He wasted to much time and resources on wonder-weapons when they material could have been used to build tried and trusted systems.

More than 65% of the German military relied on horse drawn transport!!!!

And his fascist ideas were always bound to raise resentment in the occupied countries.

All this along with his ethnic cleansing policy of the Jews and the Untermensch (Sub-humans) was bound to lead to his defeat

At the start of the war France had the most powerful army in the world. The Germans were more modernized, more prepared, and had better tactics.

NO, but they had devised more modern battlefield tactics that the allies couldn't react to fast enough. It wasn't until the US had enough planes and bombers in England did they start bringing the German armies to their knees, but in the process of doing that we killed millions of German civilians.

Hitler used demonic forces to assist him, the aethiest west had no idea about this, nor would their logical minds believe this. But Hitler did unleash evil forces to help his military along, in the end the forces of freedom won only because of the help of unseen forces who treasure freedom...WW2 was fought on 2 levels, most of it was fought on a spiritual plane, WW2 was a physical manifestation of a much greater spiritual fight.
