2 Timothy 3:1-5 (HCSB)
1 But know this: difficult times will come in the last days.
2 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,
3 unloving, irreconcilable, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, without love for what is good,
4 traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
5 holding to the form of religion but denying its power. Avoid these people!

the "olden days"? well actually, in the really, really, old days, nobody even believed in your god, so....

I'm pretty sure the world is becoming a better place, despite what some people say.

Think about it. In the dark ages you were lucky if you lived to be thirty, people were being murdered for no reason, scientific research stopped (in Europe at least), and wars were fought for hundreds of years.

Now, the worst wars last only years, technology has greatly increased the standard of living, we have individual rights, and people don't murder people over food.

Just sixty years ago black people were treated like second class citizens in the U.S., and you're trying to tell me that in these "olden days" the world was a better place?

I'm sure there were people in the olden days that didn't believe in Christianity and didn't go to church (or went and didn't pay attention) just like today, it's just that back then the Church controlled pretty much everything and if you did something it didn't like or said something it disagreed w/ you could be tortured and/or killed. It was probably best to just keep your head down.

I don't think he would last as president for very long, Moreover, he might turn those who voted for him for other reasons against the political party he represents. If you will notice, Michelle Bachman ran out of steam early in this race becuase most Republicnas se her as too extreme. And she's a Luttheran-turned hard right wing fundamentalist

What olden days?

The days when "everyone" owned slaves?

The days when everyone was slaughtering native americans?

The days when black people rode on the back of the bus?

The days when women couldn't vote?

The dayse they were executing women in Salem for "witchcraft"?

The days whem women were property?

The days (60s and before) when child sexual abuse was not recognized as a crisis?

The days of puratins when you were put in jail for not going to Church. or for celebrating Christmas?

When are these great olden days?

I thought you weren't allowed to "bear false witness"?
Or do you just "see" only what you choose to see?

- "This is such a nice area! I just can't believe something like that could happen here!"
- Statement ALWAYS made by SOMEONE after something nasty happens ANYWHERE.

Catholics do. It is still a Commandment to go to Church and a sin if you don't.
