Regardless of whether or not you believe in anthropogenic global warming, why do some keep pasting the same answer? Does this actually convince anyone of their position? Do you all enjoy reading the same boring tirades over and over? Is is possible for everyone to vote these people down so we don't have to read it? Also this is not the same as pasting a sources list.

Thank you for all of the answers so far, I will say there is nothing wrong with using the same answer for the same question, but I have seen many cut, copied, and pasted answers to questions that are not relevant. Not that I'm going to name any names of who does this :D

I took a poll and 9 out of ten people said they scrolled past long answers. Many gave them the thumbs down. E magazines have failed because the net is not a comfortable place to read long articles.

Many questions revolve around similar issues so the answers necessitated are quite similar. Often the people doing the cutting and pasting start by answering the question then add some standard text by way of additional information, references, links etc; this can be useful to the asker as it gives them more to go on than a lot of the one line answers.
I think it's probably something we all do from time to time, I know I've done it if someone has aksed the same or a very similar question before.
After a while you get to recognise the cut and copied text so if you've already read it before you can skip to the next response.

+you are right
that happens ,and i am guilty of that ,and every so often i change the text ,
But what do you suggest
I have answered over a thousand questions
most just saying -.-.Global warming is it true?
do we have to be original with every question?
why dont you say as well
why do people keep asking the same question over and over again ,
Can that also not be considdered boring .all they have to do is read the thousands of questions gone before ,with many thousands more answers ,what about them why dont you attack them as well .or is your opinion limited to only one side .
And is somebody with a stick forcing you to read all these answers?
Dont you know the answers by now ?
Do you have a problem retaining information.
Why dont you copy and paste the answers into your computor so you dont have to keep reading them.
Just by asking the same question the people asking the question are voting the people that answer to respond, they do the iniciating in the first place .
Why not vote people not to keep asking the same questions over and over again .
Apart from that ,repetition appears to be very nessecary judging by the persistent level of ignorence that prevails.
But maybe your right ..Maybe i should go to the beach instead of wasting my time with the American public.
Most of them want to handle is a Yes or No answer anyway, anything longer confuses them. And that would make this show far to boring to be a part of .

Some of the responsibility is with the people who post the exact same questions, instead of searching to see if they've already been asked.
Personally, I often cut and paste some pieces. But I try to tailor my answer to the question by adding things to the pieces I've used before or in my choice of which pieces to use in what order.
But, if the question is exactly one that has been asked repeatedly such as: "What is global warming" or "Is global warming real?" Or "Why don't people understand global warming is real/not", then a repetitive answer is understandable.

I use a standard answer sometimes (although for some reason I can't use it anymore, I copy and paste it in but my answer shows up blank) There is no point to rewrite the same answer over and over again, my answer contained all my sources and arguments. Since so many of the questions are the same it does not make sense to write a new answer every time.

It may be a valid answer to a question that is continually asked. The answerer can only assume that the questioner has not viewed the answer previously and therefore ''copy and paste'' becomes a wise option. You could have asked ''Why do people continually ask the same question over and over?'' Again, one would have to assume that the questioner has no knowledge of his question being asked previously.

Maybe because the same stupid global warming questions keep getting posted. Like "is it real" or "do you know it is fake" or the ever popular "global warming", which is not even a sentence much less an actual question.

Because they would like to get a best answer so they can get a free CFL like I did. And typing all that stuff over and over again for all those people who STILL dont believe that global warming exists is exausting.

I was embarrassed to put a link to a song in two answers yesterday....I mean, once is enough, right? If you don't get it after that, you just don't get it. Browsers have the amazing ability to "go back" a page...all the way back to when you logged on. if someone is interested in what you have to say, they can dig it up for themselves. Repetitive answers are self-serving.

Ive noticed that a few times. I guess maybe they got best answer once so they are willing to try the same answer for the best result over and over.
