I have been having some issues lately, I feel a disconnect between me and the Lord, I have repented of sins and maybe I'm unaware of other sin in my life. I was at church today and I had trouble worshipping the Lord. I feel so guilty! maybe I have been spending to much time on my own. I wonder if being lonely messes with my head b/c God said its not good for man to be alone. But I feel so guilty for feeling this way b/c I know others have it so much worse than me. Any advice on what I should do?

Our faith is not rooted in our feelings, nor is God's love for us. If it were, God could save us, then get rid of us. That is not His nature.
From what you say, the problems you are dealing with make you very introspective. You become absorbed by your problems. In the toughest of times, it is important to pray for a God-centered perspective on life. That means that you will make the choice (overriding feelings) to praise God each day first.
God is the God of your feelings. Turn them over to Him and seek to praise Him first and be focused on other people's needs second.

I agree with an above answer, give up the guilt.

I had a problem worshipping today too, but I know why .... a little kid running up and down the aisle, people holding conversations during the music worship, my new shoes hurt and my back ached. I actually started to fall asleep during the sermon lol.

But I don't feel guilty about it. God did not say that worship was about your feelings.

And yes, being lonely does mess with your head, so keep your head straight where it belongs and let your emotions do as they wish. You may be lonely right this minute, but God has someone for you, you just aren't ready yet (or maybe it's him, sometimes God has to kick 'em in the rear to get them started lol).

Guilt is not of God. Guilt is of satan and if you take hold of it, he has hold of you.
Everyone has sin in their life - there isn't any getting away from it. All you can do is trust God to guide you and help you. Ask forgiveness and also ask Him to reveal any areas that you and He can work on together. Keep your chin up dear.... we've all been there done that!
If you feel you are spending too much time on your own (I've been there too), why not join a class or group of like minded individuals where you get together once a week or so?

blessings :)

(a) BELIEVE that you are forgiven, even though you may not feel it.
(b) PRAY, having faith that God is right beside you listening to you.
(c) GET INVOLVED in some sort of church ministry. If you are busy doing the Lord's work, then you will keep your Godly focus, and you will not have time or energy to stray.
(d) STAY IN THE WORD. Scripture is very edifying and encouraging.
(e) Surround yourself with GODLY FRIENDS. They will help you to stay the course.
(f) IM me if you want to talk. It does not matter whether or not we are from the same denomination.

hey, I'm a Christian, I know exactly where your at because I was there, only about 2 months ago. my pastor preached a sermon on Christians being bound, and how they can't move forward in their Christian life, and it hinders there relationship with God, well, that was me, I didn't know what my chains were, but I knew that I had some, so I just prayed and asked God to break the chains, well, about 2 months later God broke the chains. I would pray something like that, you can email me if you need more help or info.

When that happens to me, I go back to the real basics of Christianity, Jesus' actual words (the read letters in the first 4 gospels of the New Testament); not anyone's interpretations of what Jesus' meant by what he said.

Edit: I forgot to tell you one of the reasons I think it works. If you just read those red letters, it will be like you were actually there getting his message. And toward the end, Jesus said (just before he ended his mission on Earth) - something about he would send the Holy Spirit to witness to you about what he was telling you, and the Holy Spirit would help you understand.

Examples (which are hardly ever discussed)

Instead of telling you to get right with God, Jesus told us how to get along with each other. And, instead of worshipping God until it hurts, Jesus told us to love God, and indirectly to love that God wants us to get along with each other.

Keep pressing into God,worship him despite how you feel.Your commitment is more then just a feeling,God sometimes seems far but he is your breath he is your breath. So he is within you,by your obedience and desire to follow his word Christ lives within you.So he moves through you therefore he is never far.Continue to worship, and ask Him to allow you to feel his presence again. He loves you dear one.

Speak to your preacher. You need to tell someone who will understand about what you are feeling. Hang in there!!!! May God bless you.

Kenneth Hagin said that alot of the times, when he got up to preach or teach he felt back-slidden!
Good thing we don't go by feelings All of the Time!
