The same thing happened to our church community, but rather than being closed by the Diocese, it closed in a 20 million dollar scandal.
In reality, the only option that is realistically available to you is to keep the church community alive by any means that is available to you. Mailing lists, on-line forums and groups, web sites, home meetings and the like. You have to keep the fire alive. If it dies, then it wasn't meant to be.
It has been three years since the closure of our church (Congregation of over 2,000 members) and we are only now starting to recover and regroup.

The Diocese makes those decisions, usually based upon the level of support and attendance at the specific church. It's a combination of economics, and stewardship.
1) Invite more people to come
2) Make bigger donations/tithes.

The house of God will never fell ! first of all is pray ,that's major ,after that ,search for a lawyer to sue the demolishers .create a news at mags and newspaper and get a petition (maybe ,not my option though) ,but pray ,pray ,pray ,and remember ,whoever against the House of God shall fall !And there's a big power in pray ,more than any other suggestion I made.
