Okay...I went to install Mac OSX x86 (for developers) and in the instructions I were given read..."...the setup may look like it hangs but you will hear you hard drive working..." I left the room to let it do its thing and I went back to find Windows dreaded Blue Screen of Death. I pressed in the power button on my PCs tower to shut the computer down...I turned it back on to find that the computer will not boot into Windows or the new "Mac OS" I installed. My computer is now worthless and is a paper weight. It will not enter into BIOs or anything...does anyone have a solution that will NOT cost me money? It is very important that I get this computer running again even if I lose all of my files...

I'm assuming you were trying to install OSX onto a PC? Just in case you're talking about OSX onto a Mac I'll leave those instructions as well.

Installation onto a PC:
1.) Insert your 98/ME/2000/XP/Vista install disk and boot to it.
2.) Try selecting the "repair installation" option and select your main partition.
3.) It should reboot and you'll be able to boot back into windows.

If that does not work, you'll need to fix the master boot record. You can do that with the following:

1.) Boot into the install CD again
2.) Hit "R" to enter the recovery console
3.) When you get a prompt, type "fixmbr" to fix the MBR to boot to the primary partition again.

Installation onto a Mac:
1.) Hold down the "s" key on bootup to enter single user mode
2.) type "fsck" to run disk utility to repair any partitions damaged in your installation.

Keep in mind that if you're trying to install OSX onto a PC then you're in shaky ground there--that OS is not designed to work on that platform. Some people have been able to make it work with hacks but on the whole you'll run into problems trying to make it work. If you want the Mac experience, get a Mac--you can run windows on Macs as well.

First mistake, shouldnt play with things you not familiar with.
Second mistake, when installing anything new, watch it.

Try pop in your Windows CD, boot from it and choose a repair install, if not, as OSX may have changed the MBR, you may choose to wipe the HDD and start again..

If you have your Windows CD just have it format the hard drive and reinstall itself
