a summer job would teach her responsibility and give her her own spending money. I begin working at about age 9 doing odd jobs for my neighbors then at age 12 babysitting.

If she has interests get her involved in a group or club through a local organization or church.

She could also volunteer a little of her time to a local nursing home, hospital, animal shelter, or other service based organization.

This is a good opportunity for her to try new things. I hope you find something that makes her happy.

I Live in NC but will put on my thinking cap.Wish I knew the age and who she lives with.Is she old enought to do small jobs each day around the home to earn money at the end of the week.Take her to the library let her pick out books to bring home.Have a craft drawer to make things for people.Have one friend over once or twice a month for her to play with.
MOre on her age and home life sure would help

Sorry to say but everyone goes through that stage for 3-4 years of their life. Old enough to want, but not old enough to do.

Here is an idea, take her with you.
