Yes dogs can see in the dark, they can see in light that is 5 times darker than we can. Just think about it, dogs are basically domesticated wolves, and wolves hunt at night, if the couldn't see in the dark then how would they catch things.

Well, When I let my dogs out in the middle of the night they must be able to see in the dark since there are no lights out back. Never seen & heard them run into the pool, shed, or fence!!!!

Yes. Dogs need five to six times less light to see than a human does. Both humans and dogs have photoreceptor cells in our eyes. These cells are known as rods and cones (because of the way they are shaped). Cones help us to see color by firing off in different combinations of red, green, and blue. By "firing off" I mean they are sending messages to the brain. Anyways, cones need light to operate. Rods, however, work to pick up as much light as they can in the dark. Rods can not fire color, that's why we see in black and white in the dark. Dogs have more rods than we do so it takes less time for them to adjust to the dark and they can see with less light.

:) I hope this was helpful.

Of course. Like cats but not to the same extent dogs have a reflective retina that helps them see at night.

No they cant. Cats can because their eyes glow from the little bits of light in the dark which is why only cats can

They certainly see better than we do, we are pretty blind in the dark.
