It is not the war that is causing the riff. It is politicians and the media using it for their political agenda.

Having been both places I could explain the reasons for initially going and for being there, but I've done that already on here. (It's two different reasons.)

The media isn't "lying" to you but they *are* subjectively omitting the facts and determining the stories to tell to achieve their financial and political goals. (I support the free press but am appalled at the abuse thereof.) The politicians are not quite as honest in their deceit. Some of them are outright lying. Others are merely misportraying the truth. Some of them are just being illogical and not objectively researching the details. Some of them would be against the war in Afghanistan if they didn't have Iraq to rally around.

Our elected official our causing the rift. If they would adhere to the restrictions imposed upon them by the Constitution of the United States, a lot of things that have happened would not happen. the American people would be more informed of their activities and less divided.

We are divided because we watch the twisted, slanted, disgusting media that choose a hot button topic and throw gas all over it.

We are divided because we are ignorant. Each of us succumbs to this notion that it is our place to make others behave.

The War is just one of many abuses and actions contrary to the structure of government set up by the constitution that our elected public servants have foisted upon us.

enough ranting I guess

Thanks for asking

I blame a lot of factors, not just the war in Iraq.

Ahfganistan didn't attack anyone first of all, it was the terrorists training there. Second, we are helping people who have been brutalized for years under a sick , sick man. If we didn't do it ourselves, by now the world would have been crying for us to help them anyway.
