Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:
Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!
The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.
Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.
Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it a homemade feeling.
This is a really beautiful poem too!
The things you taught me I will always know.
How could I not? The roots have sunk so deep:
All lessons of the heart that I will keep
No matter who I am or where I go.
Kids learn from what their parents are, and so
You are my book of life, the thoughts I reap;
From you I learned the rules of right and wrong
Against which I at times had to rebel,
Though with regret I carry with me still.
How lucky I am to have been loved so well,
Even as I pushed against your will,
Relying on a father fair and strong.

Fathers Day is a special day to recognize fathers. Gifts are good but the best gift is spending time with him and just telling him how much he means to you (may it be by phone or in person). Saying Thank you is the most precious gift of all.

stop buying things. Maybe he would like you to make something. or what about taking him out and do something as child and dad. Go fishing or a race something he like to do do it with him . Do something like bowling pool. gifts are not always the answer. Fathers day is to show him he is the greatest dad. Were does that say buy things. All about him and do something for him or with him . make something he can keep to see you love him. Make a picture frame and have your and his picture in it and same love you dad.
Hope this Helps. I would love my kids to do that for me.
My kids did nothing on my birthday and I don't expect anything on fathers day. SO your dad is luck.

Get him a card that says " I would have bought you a gift, but you already have everything!". Just kidding. Buy him an outfit or some DVDs or CD's or a magazine subscription.

All father's are picky. You said you didn't want to get him a gift card. You should get him one to Lowe's or home depot. That way he can get what he wants. Also get him a really sweet card telling him how much he means to you. Good luck

Depends on how much you have to spend. For about $50 you can get him a huge 10 lb. Guittard chocolate bar. That ought to last him a while. You can find them at http://www.chocolate-candy-mall.com/giant-chocolate-bar.html
If that is out of your price range, just make him a chocolate candy bar card. It is personal and inexpensive, but kind of clever. Just use posterboard and a variety of candy bars. You use the names of the candy bars as part of the words in your card. There are simple instructions at http://www.chocolate-candy-mall.com/chocolate-candy-bar-cards.html
If that isn't your style, maybe you can just make him a batch of
his favorite chocolate candy. You could make fudge, or chocolate covered pretzels, or maybe chocolate covered coffee beans if he is a coffee lover. There are all kinds of recipes at http://www.chocolate-candy-mall.com/homemade-chocolate-candy-recipes.html
Sometimes the best gifts aren't the most expensive, but the ones you make yourself. Then the person knows you took the trouble to make something to please them.
Good luck!
