It depends on if they have any activities going on this summer if they do then 9pm for the 10yr old and 10pm for the 12yr old. You do want to make them at different times to give the 12yr old the frame of mind that he is becoming a young man so you trusts him to stay up later. If they don't have any activities then 10pm for the 10 yr old and 11 pm for the 12 yr old. You don't want to let them stay up to late because then when summer is over and school is back in session it will be harder to get them back in their routine.

Well I believe that they need their sleep or they will tend to get a attitude. I have been babysitting since I was 14 & when ever i am babysitting someone younger then 12 i like to get them in bed before 11, 11:30 the latest. I mean you can put the TV on & let them watch it as long as they are in bed.

I would say no later than 10 sure it's summer but it's best to keep them on a schedule. My daughters are 7 and 2 and they both are in bed at 8 pm sharp summer or not. But we are strict military parents for those who think that's crazy.

They should be in bed by 10pm. Tell the youngest to go to bed at 9:30 and 10 for the oldest.

Probably 9pm for the 10 year old and 10pm for the 12 year old. When I was 12 I didn't have a bedtime. That's a little old to be told when to sleep. Maybe they have to be in their room with the tv on at 10 but, crap they're almost a teenager!

It's summer so let the latest be about 10:30 for both of them. I take Teen Living and Child Development at school so I know about this kind of thing. Hope it helps!

During the summer me and my sister had to be inbed by 10 (we are 13 and 11) and we had to be in by 9. It made me frustrated (because I'm the oldest) to have an early bedtime but it was nice for my sister and fair even though I didn't really like it.

i believe that they should. two years isn't really that much apart. If you're only bumping the bed time up by a half an hour to an hour it shouldn't really make that much of a difference any way.
