My Fiancè had an Ipod she used for all of her music. I recently got her a Createive Zen to use instead of the Ipod...in turn, I got the Ipod because she doesn't need it anymore. I hooked it up to her computer and converted it to a disk drive via iTunes.

My question now is how do I transfer my music to it without using iTunes (I refuse to load it on my computer because it is junk)? I noticed that there are many folders (F00 - F49) in the "Music" on the Ipod now and those folders have all of her music in them, only they all have random 4-letter file names.

How can I transfer my music to the Ipod so that it can play it?

Maybe I wasn't clear as to what exactly I want to do. I want to know how to copy my MP3 files that are on my computer over to my Ipod without installing iTunes.

I have the Ipod enabled as a disk drive so I can access it...is there a certain way I have to copy the files over or can I simply copy and past them on the Ipod in the "Music" folder?

They didn't design it to work that way. The "using ipod as disk drive" is not designed to be used for you to put music on the ipod that way to play it. It's for transfer and storage, not for content to be viewed/listened to on the iPod.

You might look into some of these 3rd party apps:
iDump
iPodCopy
Anapod
SharePod
YamiPod
Floola
