I started using a treadmill in April and lost 10 pounds...I gave it up for May and started taking a spin class and I only loss 2 pounds in May. Does spinning increase muscle. I didn't change my diet either.

Yes, spinning increases muscle. But it doesn't drop fat at the rate that running does. It seems much harder, but nonetheless running makes you skinnier. Look at a long distance olympic runner, then a cyclist. Running consistently produces a slimmer body shape. But you will probably have stronger leg muscles from cycling, and stronger stomach muscles from running.

spinning is just another cardio workout and burns fat and muscle. try combining it with treadmill so your body doesnt get used to it, the more different your workouts the more pounds you will lose.
