not a "noticeable" amount- at least not the short haired ones. If you get the long haired or the wire haired they tend to shed more. They do tend to shed once or twice a year. they are wonderful dogs though. i fully recommend getting a daschund.

Depends on whether or not it's a long-haired daschund or a short-haired one. Both shed their fair amount, on furniture and the what-not, but the short-haired ones are a lot less noticable. My Nana had a short-haired Daschund, and it's shedding "badly" right now, and she hardly notices the hair. Hope this helps.

Daschunds shed, but the smooth coated version has hair so short that you won't notice it as much. You will notice more with the wire or long-haired versions.

First of all I wouldn't trust any answer from anyone that can't spell dachshund. Dachshunds shed just as all dogs do. The smooth coat has such short hair that it is not noticed. Also they do not have an undercoat so the don't "blow" their winter undercoat every spring. Another wonderful thing about dachshunds is that they or their coats do not have any doggy odor, none at all.

They're not heavy shedders, but they do shed twice a year. Doing a thorough brushing every second day or so when they're shedding will help a lot.

Well that is a bit complicated. There are three types of Daschunds:
Wirehaired: rarely shed
Shorthaired: don't shed
Longhaired: require constant grooming (if not groomed, then it will shed alot)
I hope I helped!
