any tips on brushing her?
how long, and how often?

also, if i want her to stop shedding so much, should i brush her a certain way, or for a certain amount of time?
thank you :D

Sadly...most dogs shed and depending on the bredd...some dogs shed A LOT!!!!
When she is shedding her hair, you need to use a shedding brush (looks like a mini garden rake). If you are using a brush that has soft bristles, they only really work for short coated dogs. Dgos with longer fur require what looks like a soft on one side and wires on the other.
Start at the top of the head and brush in the direction that the hair grows, in small strokes (small areas at a time) to make sure you are brushing the entire area and not just the top hairs. Usingf smaller strokes helps withy any matts the dog might have. If she does have matted hair clumps, it's best to cut them out (carefully) then to keep pulling at the matt.
Always brush dog from head to tail, in the direction of the fur and brush downward, along the sides and belly.
Brushing should take 10-15 minutes (sometimes longer) and should be done AT LEAST 3 times a week....daily brushing is best.
As far as bathing the dog...dogs DO NOT need to be bathed often!!! Frequent bathes dry out the skin and most of the chemicals in dog shampoos are not that helpful. Our Vet actually recommends no more than twice a year!!! Your dog could go roll in mud and by the time it's dried, there will be no mud left on the dog.
Good luck and happy grooming.

Need more info. Do you have a local pet store with a grooming salon. Take a trip there with your dog. Any good groomer should be able to help you choose the proper supplies.

For stopping the shedding, you brush everyday for about an hour to 30 mins. You should brush your dog everyday though anyway. Also for shedding, you can get a "shedding blade" which is used on horses but you can use it on any other animal as well. You can buy it here:
