No way, you should NOT go on a salad diet at all. Never try to starve yourself. You will be skinny- not fit, and not a good tye of skinny. You want to just eat healthier and excersise every chance you get. Eat properly. Like for breakfast, have some Specail K with low-fat milk, and a glass of oj. For a snack, a sugar-free granola bar, for lunch, may be some chicken, for dinner, a salad, some kind of veggie and low-carb pasta. And its ok to treat yourself to something nice once in a while.

Try going to a weight loss management clinic in your area that will prescribe Phentermine. It's a diet medicine that not only makes you not hungry, it gives you a ton of energy and you eat less when you do eat. I just lost 40 pounds in the last 4 months taking it. You do have to change your diet some, but with the medicine it makes it alot easier to eat less, and you think about food less often. Don't buy the stuff online, most of the online pharmacies that sell it are fakes and will rip you off.
Good luck!

I would go on this diet (mine):
for breakfast eat 1 cup of Special k and 1 cup of milk (bowl of cereal) this equals =240 calores
for lunch eat two boiled eggs (without the shell and yellow yolk) this equals 80 calories
then for supper eat 1 no-calorie yogurt which equals no calories
so thats about 320 calories a day.
then walk 1 1/2 miles everyday. this is how i lost 32 pounds in 3 months.

find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise (running, jogging, swimming, cycling etc) 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (you have to count time not miles or calories burned), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

If you are nursing ask your doctor about a diet. Baby fat does not come off overnight.....it will come off as your hormones settle down. If you were heavy before you got pregnant you will have to do some type of dieting eventually.
