I am asking this question about people in general. I am not making any blanket statements about any men or women or anyone in particular.

you just make up your mind that the *jerk* has NO power over you........ stay away as much as possible or ignore.... smile when they say something that irritates you and sooner or later they will get bored from NOT getting a reaction out of you..... hard I know, but that is the ONLY way to stop it.... God bless

Also, consider that this fool behaves this way to a number of people which means one day s/he'll slip up and misbehave around the 'wrong person' and get a big surprise (an undesirable confrontation). When you are able to use the 'kill them with kindness' approach/response, you take away all that jerk's power to ruffle your feathers. You'll be rising above the level of consciousness which allows that person to manipulate your thoughts or emotions.
Just a little dab of determination added to some self control, and you've got it made.

When you fully realize that they are saying the things they say in order to tick you off and push your buttons then you can finally take nothing they say serious at all, and this will stop their attempts to anger and intimidate you. Don't let them control you! These kinds of people are manipulators and all they are wanting is to maneuver you around to get a rise out of you.
