I wash my hair with paul mitchell's tea tree special shampoo everyday and every night my hair feels sticky and dirty like i have not washed it in a week. I don't get it, I mean this is suppose to be good shampoo. Why does my hair always feel icky?

you must not be washing it out completely. i work at a paul mitchell salon, and i have that exact shampoo and conditioner in my shower right now. i've never had that problem.

the only other thing i can think of is if you bought it at a drugstore or supermarket or something. Paul Mitchell (along with most other professional hair products) only guarantee their products when sold from a professional salon. it says it right on the back of the bottle. if you find it in a store, like cvs or stop & shop, its either stolen, old, or not the real thing.

if your hair is too thick, you need to have it thinned out next time you get your haircut. ask for a razor cut, this is the best way to do it. also, try Paul Mitchell super skinny shampoo and conditioner. you may go through alot of conditioner, but all of our thick-haired clients love it. it helps "contract" the cuticle, making it "skinny" (hense the name).

***UPDATE***
i just noticed you have short hair. if you're using some kind of wax or pomade when you style it to make it more defined or peicy, this could be the reason your hair never feels clean. products like paul mitchell spray wax, foaming pomade, and wax works, dont' come out easily. not sure if this is your situation, but its a possibility.

1] buy a clarifying shampoo to remove all product buildup in your hair. Use about once a month.
2] buy shampoo and conditioner for your hair type
3] comb hair before washing.
4] Wet hair. Apply 25-50 cents worth of shampoo to hands, rub once to spread, and apply to scalp, not shaft of hair. Rinse thoroughly. If it didn't 'lather' nicely, wash again, and rinse again.
5] Apply 25-50 cents worth of conditioner to hands, spread,
and apply to hair, not scalp.Your skin and the new roots don't need conditioning. Rinse thoroughly.
6] Blot hair dry with a towel, don't rub - wet hair is fragile.
7] Comb out tangles with a wide tooth comb. Never brush wet hair - it will break off, and cause split ends.
8] scrub all combs and brushes with shampoo and nail or toothbrushes to get product residue out.
