Many people tell me "God says.....this, that, etc." How, when where did God speak to them?
When I ask that question, the answeres are all hearsay.

I heard God speak to me one day. It was regarding a personal choice i was trying very hard not to make. I wasn't sure at first because i thought maybe it was just me talking to myself, but it was different...it was God speaking to me. Trying to keep me from making the same dumb mistake over and over again.

In 1989, I was in prayer. I had a vision of Jesus and He spoke to me.
Later, that same year, God spoke to me, just as you might be talking to a friend. He told me the name of my firstborn son. I hadn't even met my wife at the time.
However, in both cases, everything that He said could be backed up in Scripture.
