Some people truely are... some just do it for show.. it completely depends on the person. My mother in law did that to marry my father in law... now they are both very active in the church and she's happier than she's ever been.
Also... my Grandmother converted from Lutheran to Catholic to marry my Grandfather.... they got divorced when my mom was about 16... but my Grams remained the ever extreme catholic. to the point when i was an adult over the course of about 4 years of study and prayer I realized I didn't belong in the Catholic church... My grandmother had sooo many aweful things to me and about me when I did that... even though she only converted to marry and eventually it turned into faith.. where as I went because of my faith... she even threatened to have me excommunicated... which would have kept me from being at any weddings and even her funeral. It got toootally ugly for a time.
Honestly conversion should be a matter of faith... but people do alot of crazy things for love :D

I married a Catholic. I wasn't required to convert in order for my husband to get permission to marry me but I did have to promise to allow our children to be raised Catholic. I was not going to promise to raise my children in any faith I couldn't embrace. So I investigated and converted. I was sincere.
I think it depends on the person and the circumstances. I have know some who converted in order to get married that were very sincere and some who were not.

I'd say normally not. I guess it's possible that someone could have been introduced to the faith through their fiance, and really came to believe in it. But I'd say 9 times out of 10, they're not sincere.

It's difficult to be covert when you marry... There's usually a ceremony, a reception and such. ... People will figure it out!

Oh, you meant "convert" in the question....=OP
I would think it would be very rare that they were, but only they can know for sure.

Usually in situations like that it isn't very sincere as they are doing so to please the person that they love or the person that they loves family.

People who do that don't have a mind of their own. They're just doing it to please the spouse and in-laws. I sure as hell never would.
