She's drinking water and eating a little. When I got her I was able to send her to the Vet right away but I've fallen on hard times and I'm not able to now. Please someone help me.

First of all, every dog I've had who has had that issue has turned out to have worms. While not all worms are fatal to dogs, they are definately inconvenient, annoying, unsanitary, etc. Definately ease up on the food for a day or two, try to get everything out of the system. I can't say I'd recommend giving him any human medications, I'd definately recommend giving him just water for about 36 hours. Make sure he drinks as much as he can, and make sure he can urinate anytime he needs.

Worms will not go away. What you're doing is troubleshooting his system to see if something else is the problem. When he is done with the 36 hours, give him food, little at a time. If his problem has not been resolved, you need to get him to a vet.

Call around for a vet who allows payment programs. Shelters and vets are great resources. If your vet does not do programs like that, ask him for a recommendation to somebody who does.

If his stool hardens and you see worms, you know, but don't count on it, he needs to eventually see a vet regardless.

Worst case scenario, if you can't help him you can't help him. A shelter or another home might be the best thing for him...

Unfortunetly there is not really anything you can give over the counter to help. Some people will reccomend immodium but don't be fooled most veterinarians will not even suggest this. My concern is dehydration. Even if they are drinking water they are usually losing more than they intake. Little dogs are especially prone to dehydration. Call your vet sometimes they will work with you and set up a payment plan. There are also some vets that take care credit. It is a credit card used in the medical profession that you can apply for. If you can't do these things withhold food and water for 12 hours to give her GI tract time to settle then start offering small frequent amounts of a bland diet (1 part broiled chicken to 2 parts rice) and slowly increase the amount. Do this for a couple days then start mixing in her regular food.

If you can't afford the vet call the humane society and see if they can help you out, they usually have a contract with their own vet. Also call your vet and ask to set up a payment plan or a discount. She really needs to see a vet after 48 hours of diarrhea. Good Luck

You can give her Imodium to relieve the diarrhea, use the same dosage for a human of her size. Then, tomorrow, bring a stool sample into the vet of the runny poop. It is usually only about $20 to have a stool sample analyzed. The vet should be able to prescribe a remedy to permanently take care of the symptoms.

You can give a dog Kaopectate for diarrhea, use directions on package for weight. It's important she drinks lots of water so she doesn't get dehydrated, but you should withhold food until she's better. If it doesn't clear up within a day, though, she needs to see the vet.

When my siberian husky had bad diarrhea, our vetrinarian reccomended a meal of 1/2 white cooked rice and 1/2 well cooked ground beef. Then we slow reintroduced his food by mixing it with the rice meat mixture. As long as he is drinking still he should be ok but if it lasts much longer I would suggest you contact a vet clinic and see if there is a discounted clinic somewhere but the mixture I explained was the sure trick for us.

She really needs to see a vet see if teh vet will work with you.
My sister has a court date for not taking her dog to the vet on a weekend and now she is facing charges of cruelty. If you own a dog you need to care for it. if it were a child wiould you just say I can't afford to take the child to the hospital and let teh child possilby dehydrate and die???
A dog is depentdent on you so do what you need to if not call teh shelter to take the dog and get teh care it needs.
