And to answer your question, no.

Ron your question is valid because people around the world ask the same question. Why did God of the old testament order so many people to be put to death? Actually God is Pro life. The problem is this, Satan can't touch God the father and so he goes after God's beloved creation. Remember since the fall of Adam Satan has been instigating the destruction of all humanity. Herein lies the problem. Since people have free will many will be manipulated by this Grand Master of deception called Satan. Remember God can see into the future and unfortunately these people you mentioned were practicing things that would lead to unspeakable violence in the world much worst than what you see today. And so God did what had to be done to preserve the human race. It was a type or pruning. But remember when God gave the order He took responsibility for it because He alone can restore life after taking it no other being can make that claim. Even if one was cremated and his ashes spread on the sea God is able to collect every atom and restore both body and soul. Please do not under estimate the power and wisdom of God. He wants to be your champion but Satan wants to obliterate you along with your hopes and dreams.

Great question.......I always liked the way Christians picked and chose the parts of the bible to follow and what parts to put aside.

My favorite was the perennial fight between my brother and father when my brother would ask, "If God is all loving and forgiving, then why can't he forgive you for not accepting him as your lord and savior?". My father would announce that you had to accept God as your savior to go to heaven and if you didn't then you went to hell, to which my brother would reply "Then he's not all forgiving if he can't forgive you for not accepting him, is he now?" I'm sure you can picture the fight that ensued......ahhhhhh, those loving understanding Christians!!!!

Oh Thank the true God in Heaven that I am not saying this to your face...because I would lose my Christianity. God told the Israelites to take what was theirs and to purge the land of evil. In fact they were punished and still are being punished for not fully removing them. It was not mass murder it was purging the land that God promised Abraham's descendants of evil. The Bible takes a clear stance on "murder" and tells us that God is an angry jealous God that we should fear (respect). And when people didn't he had to take action. Try reading the Bible or asking a minister. Any minister worth his salt will tell you what I just did and more.

In Jesus Name

Put on some clothes before something freezes and falls off. Who knows, you might actually have a use for it some day.

And if this question isn't part of the R&S drinking game, I vote that it be added right now. This makes at least three times that I've seen some variation of it during the past few days.

Athiests have nothing, believe in nothing, have no purpose on this earth, are just an accident of nature. What do they have to offer to even the most lukewarm of Christians except despair.

No, atheists did not create mankind and leave them a guide book to live by, but God did.

From the answers I'd say it's apparent that excuse only works for them.

I was about the ask the EXACT same question. That's a little eerie.

I was reading the OT last night and I can't understand how christians can disregard it if it's the "word of god."
