No, it's not the generals. They're just carrying out policy that comes from above. Look to the very top for the real problem.

This is an outrage and an insult to their mothers from whom they came from.

The problem isn't with generals.

The problem is at the top.

Those in charge fail to see the sitting ducks situation they created for our young and bravest.

What is needed is a revamping of policy, throwing out what doesn't work and substituting it with new ideas based on technology and involvement of the entire world.

The quagmire created in Iraq needs to be solved with the participation of the entire world.

Freeing up troops and keeping them at the ready is what is needed most now, but achieving objectives will require pulling the rug out from under those politicians want to keep the status quo.

It begins with Congress usurping power from the incumbents that failed, not just appeasing them with rhetoric.

The mess created in Iraq requires a lot more than troops to solve. It requires just what you said...vacating the entire country, exploding it all up after the deadline, and then going in to create three separate countries through the aid of the entire world.

Bad Generals yes, I am a retired 1SG and I disliked officers for there brash arrogance that got them into trouble all the time, and these are the people that make General. Now if Russell Honere took command and left with the order win and get us the hell out of there in a year, he could do it.

We don't have bad generals it's that politicians that are deciding war policy. What do politicians know about war! If politicians weren't directing the war we'd have won by now!
