I have submitted a few questions today, each time several of the answers wildly misquoted what I asked. I asked for no bible verses, they came in droves. I said I have lived my life and accomplished goals without gods guidance, people say I dont love my wife. Is it just too tough to read a paragraph, or are you so anxious to rebuff anything said here that you simply cannot be bothered with actually reading something and then thinking before you write a reply? Someone please clue me in.

Some of them don't read the questions. they spout of Bible versus because they don't know how to think for themselves. They are so convinced that they haven't thrown away their lives, that they want everyone else to believe the same thing to validate themselves.
Not everyone is like that though. There are a lot of really nice Christians out there who are probably feeding the hungry instead of hanging out of forums.

Just because you ask for no bible verses does not mean that they HAVE to follow that guideline. The Bible is the book written by the Source of all knowledge. Therefore, it is only logical that the respondents would quote from it to make their points, your protestations not withstanding.
As to your love for your wife: If the source of that love is just your own self, then it is transitory and could end on a whim. The source of true love is God. When 2 people are married as God intended and through their relationship with Him, they have a deeper, abiding love.
Your accomplishments in life may be innumerable. However, they are nothing compared to the state of your soul. If you have submitted to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, then you have attained the greatest status, the greatest riches of all. If you have accomplished your things without Him, then you've accumulated dust.
Yes, I can most certainly read and write and have a linear way of thinking. Being MENSA qualified does that to a person.

In the world, only you will know if you love your wife or not.
There is the world of the seen and the world of the unseen.
In the world of the seen it appears as if you have done it all yourself, this is natural.
In the world of the unseen there are many forces at work that humans, are totally unaware of, and this is supernatural.
If a person understands but a fragment of the supernatural,
then a strange intangible item develops in man, and it's called "Faith".
Faith is unmeasurable, yet one can feel its presence as it grows. It can't be sold or purchased, it's not available on the open market. Yet is strangely, free!
Open the heart, and a spring will develop. This spring will shower man with an abundance of Grace that is beyond his wildest imagination.
It's in mans hands to search for the spring within the heart.

Augustine of Hippo once said that he who distinguished well reasons well. I can't speak for all Christians, but last I checked I can read and comprehend.
So maybe you might need to do some good reasoning and distinguish between Christians who just want to contradict you do to their own insecurity and those who might actually give you a reasoned reply of why they have such hope in God.

yes, actually I learned to do both in grade school. perhaps quoting scriptures from the Bible was a way to backup their answers to your questions.
