I was thinking of attending an Indian Music Concert in a few weeks. I don't really have any friends to go with and my parents are not interested.

Its on a Friday night after work. The show is located close to where I work.

I wonder if it will look funny and will people stare at me and make funny remarks if I go alone? I think that I will enjoy the music and show in general.

I don't want to focus on the fact that I am alone, but I will feel conscious of it if people start to stare and make comments.

Don't worry about people looking at you.
Be independent, you don't need to have someone to accompany you everywhere you go.
Feeling self conscious will take away from the experience of the Concert altogether....just go and have a good time. Enjoy yourself, and if no one wants to go with you, why should that stop you?

I like indian music, can I come with?

If you notice or feel people are looking or making comments just pretend that you are waiting for some one, get on your cell phone and pretend you are talking to some one, say things like, "Well hurry up, I'm here by myself" or "What do you mean your not coming?! Well I am going to enjoy the concert with out you!!"

Or you could try talking to some one there, you might even notice some one else who is alone, and can strike up a conversation or something. Concerts are one of the best places to just start talking to some one, every one there has at least 1 thing in common, they all like the performer. And most people are in a good and friendly mood. You might make some new friends.

I've been to a few concerts by myself and at first I felt a little strange, but by the time the music came on I forgot all about it and had a great time.

If you want to go and enjoy the music, go enjoy. More than likely, the people won't even be talking about you. Why are you so insecure? Who cares?

Go ahead and go. It's a music concert people will be focusing on the music not on you.
