A family member has just flown out to Kuwait and will them be stationed in Iraq. He is an optometrist. Where will he be stationed? Will he be fairly safe? Will he ever have to be on the front lines? I just don't have many answers and am concerned for his safety. I want him back in the USA.

he will most lilkely be at one of the Army medical units set up in the vicinity.. think M*A*S*H, although I don't think they actually have those anymore.. but the premise is similar.

there are no distinctions between the front lines and the non front lines. EVERYWHERE is a front line.

Statistically, your family memeber has a better chance of dying in a car accident on the streets of his home town than he does of getting hurt over there.
