You'll get a lot of "negative" views of psychics. Just about everyone talks to "dead" people when we talk with our loved ones that have passed away. It's perfectly normal and acceptable to do this. I think there are true psychics who help people out and the charlatans who take people's money that give psychics a bad name. The argument that psychics are tuning into demons who pose as loving spirits don't float....think about it, if an evil spirit can do this, how much more could a loving spirit do over this evil one? So, I do think it's possible...everyone needs to learn and cope with whatever ails them in their own way, though. Nobody can tell you which is the right way for you.

Possible, yes. Good for people, no! Some of the people who do this are for real, others are just good con-artists. Either way it's not good.

The Second Commandment of Our Lord is:
You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God.
What does this mean? We should fear and love God so that we do not curse, swear, use satanic arts, lie, or deceive by His name, but call upon it in every trouble, pray, praise & give thanks.

32. What is using satanic arts by God name? Using satanic arts by God's name is:

(A) using God's name in order to perform or claim to perform supernatural things with the help of the devil, such as casting spells, calling up a spirit, fortune telling, consulting the dead, or other occult practices (Dueteronomy 18:10-12). Bible narratives: The Egyptian sorcerers performed supernatural things with the help of the devil (Exodus 7-8). The sons of Sceva used Jesus' name to cast out spirits, but they did no have faith (Acts 19:13-29).

(B) joining with or seeking the aid of people who practice these and similar satanic arts or worship Satan; (Leviticus 19:31). Bible narrative: King Saul sought the help of the witch of Endor (1 Samuel 28).

(C) depending on horoscopes or similar ways to foretell the future (Ecclesiastes 7:14).

(From Luther's Small Catechism with Explanation).

The bad news is that when people engage in these activities they are guilty of sin. The good news is that fogiveness can be found in the Jesus Christ of the Holy Bible.

Dead people are dead, gone, kaput. There is nothing wrong with someone attempting to talk to dead people as a way of coping, but the psychics are scammers. They really care about the money, and that's it.

Deuteronomy 18:10-12 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, (11) Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. (12) For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

It was a scam in the 19th century and it is a scam in the 21st. The "dead" do not talk, the dead are dead and in a very little while after death they are food for some really unpleasant insects.

I think that a great many people would like to visit with their loved ones who have died, and that "psychics" take advantage of that in order to either enrich themselves or to appear "special."

i've seen people in tv shows go to the cemetary and "talk to their dead loved ones" on their own.... without the aid of a psychic.

This is what God thinks about it:

9 When you enter the land the LORD your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there. 10 Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in [a] the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, 11 or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. 12 Anyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD, and because of these detestable practices the LORD your God will drive out those nations before you. 13 You must be blameless before the LORD your God.
The Prophet
14 The nations you will dispossess listen to those who practice sorcery or divination. But as for you, the LORD your God has not permitted you to do so. 15 The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own brothers. You must listen to him. 16 For this is what you asked of the LORD your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly when you said, "Let us not hear the voice of the LORD our God nor see this great fire anymore, or we will die."
17 The LORD said to me: "What they say is good. 18 I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers; I will put my words in his mouth, and he will tell them everything I command him. 19 If anyone does not listen to my words that the prophet speaks in my name, I myself will call him to account. 20 But a prophet who presumes to speak in my name anything I have not commanded him to say, or a prophet who speaks in the name of other gods, must be put to death."

21 You may say to yourselves, "How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the LORD ?" 22 If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him.

Deteronomy 18:9-22

Incidentally, the "Prophet" mentioned above is identified by the Apostle Peter in the New Testament as the Lord Jesus Christ.

You can talk to dead people as much as you want to. They can't hear you of course.
