When I have a litter, I usually start them on food around 4 weeks. Use a high quality food, like Chicken Soup of the Puppy Lover's Soul, or something like that, soak it in the formula that you are feeding her, and put it in a plate for her to eat. Realize, if she touches it at all to start, she will probably play in it more than eat it! give her about a week, and then change it from formula to water. Wait another week and then slowly add less and less water until it is completely dry. By the time she is 6 to 7 weeks old, she should be eating dry food. Good luck to you!

Call a vet. I found two labs on the side of the road that didn't eat dog food yet, The vet said to let them lick plain yogert, I had to give then vanilla ice cream cause vets were closed they were dehydrated. After they were interested in that I kept offering wet dog food in the pouches then moved to puppy chow. Also, read up on pack leadership and being the alpha, Mom dogs teach there pups about where to use the bathroom and appropriate behavior like bite inhibition. You are going to have to teach this pup what it didn't get from the pack. I think the puppies were labs that were 4 or 5 weeks old. Its also important not to play bitting games or tug of war actually very bad games to play with pit bulls and other breeds as well. Don't get me wrong I know they can be sweet dogs.

Now is the time to start dog food.
Wet down some good quality kibble with puppy formula or water and show the pup. Chances are she will start licking at it right away.

For the first 2 weeks the kibble should be super wet. Then gradually add less liquid until it's firmer. The pup is able to crunch kibble by 8 weeks.

Keep up with the bottle feeding for another 4 weeks. At this point, she doesn't need over night feedings.

Now is the time to start. I use Purina Puppy Chow. use the puppy formula and teh dry dog food make it to start like a watery soup.
As time goes by lessen the amout of fluid and make it thicker.
To start try to skip a bottle feeding so the pup is good an hungry and replace with teh food. I usually stick there little nose in the "soup" and they usuallyy start to lap it up.
Or another way as one has already said they don't need a ny bottle overnight and ofer teh food first thing in the morning when the pup is hungry then ate the next feeding bfore giving the bottle give food and finish witht he bottle.
Good Luck and have patience also the pup will get messy clean it off with a damp wash cloth. don't give it a bath this young.

I would start now...getting either some wet puppy food or some dry and soften it with water...just put a little in a flat dish and offer it to her...I usually start at week 4 with my weaning with my Chihuahuas...you will still have to bottle feed but start offering the food now.....and hopefully by taking the bottle slowly away and adding more food..she will be weaned by 6 weeks.

Wait a week. I would soak small puppy food in the formula you are giving her. Let her get to know her feeding area, and when she is ready she will. I would start weening off the bottle when she is starting to eat more..

well first off at that age she should be with her mother but that's out of the question so yes its about time to introduce her to solid foods so you should either give her that 2ND step puppy formula or start of with canned puppy foods a little at a time. or the formula that your giving her now just mix that with some plain boiled rice. it upsets a stomach very little. DO NOT believe those undereducated people who say that she will be malnourished and vicious if you bring her up right she will be a well trained healthy apbt. i know i raised one younger than that age myself. and he is nowhere near vicious or malnourished! good luck with her many happy healthy years.

What on earth are you doing with a 4 week old puppy! They should stay with the mother until they are 8 weeks! She's definitely malnourished, probably to the point of retardation and she is going to be mentally ill and vicious.
