These pies are about 1 1/2 times bigger than a standard meat pie you would get at a grocery store. I have 3 Chicken pies that come from KFC which were cooked and brought home hot. We couldn't eat them that day so we put them in the fridge. Since they've been previously cooked the crust is already brown. I can't microwave them because they are in an aluminum pie tin and the crust is only across the top of the pie only. If I were to put them in the oven at 350 degrees for 20 to 40 minutes I would anticipate the crust to go unacceptably dark. Am I right on this? Now what if I heat them at 250 degrees for a longer period? How would that affect it? Should I set them out to go to room temperature first and then heat it? What suggestions do you have?

If it's like a dessert pie, you can cover the crust loosely with foil. Bake around 300F. Or you could just dish it up and nuke.

If you sit them out long enough to come up to room temp you are enabling them time for bacteria growth-and it can reproduce enogh in 20 minutes to make you seriously ill so I would just use a 250 degree oven to reheat them for a bout 20 min or you can strip off the crust tops and dump the contents into a bowl and reheat it in the microwave and then put the crust back on it after if you are worried about it getting too dark

Cover the crust with foil before putting it in the oven. It's done all the time to keep crusts on pies from cooking too quickly and burning on the edges.

Don't worry about getting it to room temp. Just,
Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees and cover with foil and bake for 30 to 45 minutes. Test after 30 minutes and thereafter every 5 minutes

Cook on a stove top - heat rises - you will cook bottom of pie to the top - so top crust is the last to get heat and brown.

if you heat it in the oven, wray the whole pie in ten foil, this way it will not brown.

I am not a fan of microwave, but they do not brown, but you would have to remove it from the tin container

not that "pot pie" is an elegant name, but what about "chicken not pie"? Or chicken cobbler? I think chicken stew over rice, just calling it that itself sounds ok, too. It sounds like a very comforting meal, so the title itself conveys comfort food, at least to me.

freeze them for a while, then run warm water across the out side of the container, plop them in a micro-wave safe bowl crust side up,.....and give them the micro-wave,.....
