They ride around big gas guzzler cars, live on big mansions, and yet have the nerve to tell the ordinary joe on the street living in a one room apartment to lower his fuel consumption

Your right. I think it should be the other way around. The average joes like us should be telling THEM to lower their fuel consumption. Lol, maybe we should make our own commercials about it and see how they like it. ;)

They're the biggest polluters out of all of us. Even if they do switch to all CFLs, their pollution would still be far greater than ours in their giant mansions.

That's the way society works. The ones in charge make up the rules, and the ordinary people can't do anything about it. Thoughout history, it keeps repeating itself; Kings waste tons of resources each week, while his subjects are starving; a ruling family of Egypt prosecutes and executes a man for stealing 3 coins, while they bribe officials to raise taxes on their land. Our democracy has helped some with this issue, but there is a fatal flaw in every government.
Also, its very good for publicity if they "support going green" or crap like that
In the end, we can't do much; only the ones in power have the right to balance others in power.

It is all about another Tax. You know the taxes that us low income and middle class people can't write off like the rich can. Another way to set us back. These Bastards in the congress spend more for one dinner than my minimum wage job pays in a week. Or yea the got a $30,000 increase in the past 10 years and minimum wage didn't go up yet. Figure it out they got more increase than I make in two years.

So don't take them seriously. I don't.

These guys I take seriously:

Especially the last, because:

"The drafting of reports by the world’s pre-eminent group of climate scientists is an odd process. For many months scientists contributing to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change tussle over the evidence. Nothing gets published unless it achieves consensus. This means that the panel’s reports are extremely conservative – even timid. It also means that they are as trustworthy as a scientific document can be."

Abso-fricken-lutely!!

The film industry of California is the second greatest polluting business behind the power companies...and everybody knows you couldn't live without the power companies. When you toss in all the private pollution being done by the Hollywood crowd and their groupies...holy smoke!!! Well, maybe not holy...

Don't forget why we refer to them as the jet-set. They pop over to Europe, Asia, and Africa more often than the average-Joe travels out of state.

you have defined Al Gore. Reject the skill guzzling mansion and preaching. The earth has classes of heat temperature and chilly over thousands of years, so any organic phenomenon should not be preached against and a modest domicile would use much less skill.

This is an excellent question!!!!

One celeb probably uses more energy in a day than I do in a week!!!!!!

I do not think we need to worry about those who are over indulgent and over paid!!!

Every little thing WE do helps! Let's keep trying!

given them big fancy limos that run on electric power and that could be a start. And for celebs, if they have so much money, they can spen it on a enviornmently friendly house

celebs are HYPOCRITES. they are the same people who perform at Aids benefit concerts and all that while most of their songs and movies promote casual unprotected sex, i think they really lack a strong social conscience
