Absolutely. Any job search is actually a marketing campaign, and your resume is your sales brochure. If you don't have one, it sends a signal as to how important the job is to you, and how much work you are willing to put into impressing the potential employer. Without one, you are automatically a weaker candidate than anyone who took the time to prepare one. On the flip side, with one (that looks professional), you are automatically a stronger candidate than anyone who didn't take the time to prepare one.

Similarly, you should put together a Cover Letter - the Sales Letter to go with your Sales Brochure. The reason is the same - you will stand out vs. everyone who doesn't prepare one, and the letter gives you a chance to tell me in writing exactly why you are interested in the job I have to offer, my company, etc., and to make your argument as to why you would be a great candidate for it. It also gives you a chance to showcase your written communication skills.

Yes because even though they ask about your prior "job" history, they also want to know about YOU.
They want a general idea about the person they're thinking about hiring.
Remember everybody had a "first" job which had to start without a "work history".

Yes but instead of experience, showcase your education and knowledge. If you are experienced in lets say Microsoft office include that, if you are member of any clubs, or have done volunteer work include that also. We all have to start somewhere
