Is it appropiate to do something like that?

Christian baptism is a joyous occurrence, but must also involve the dignity which befits any life-changing decision affecting one's relationship with God and Christ.

Flowers, cards, and gifts are appropriate for the new Christian, but not at the actual immersion service. For a more thorough discussion of this matter, JWs may consider:
The Watchtower of April 1, 1995, page 30
Our Kingdom Ministry, December 1991, page 2
The Watchtower of June 1, 1985, page 30-31

Yes, it is! The Bible cover is an excellent idea, or a sleek cover or bag to carry publications in for the ministry. When I was baptized the sisters that I studied with got me a card with mountains and a lake on the front, and the Bible verse taken from
Acts 8:36: "Look! a body of water: what prevents me from getting baptized?"
printed across the bottom....On the inside it said..."We're glad nothing prevented you!"....and then it went on to say

"May Jehovah richly bless your service to him from this day____________ forward into the new world."....and of course, they wrote in the date of my baptism in the blank.

Then many of the sisters and some brothers, wrote personal comments! I will always keep this card commemorating the most important day of my life! So it is very nice to give her a memento of her most important day also!

I am not JW, but usually when we baptise a new convert we give a nice Bible with their name on it.

I know they have their own translation (more or less) so maybe a Bible cover with her *Name* and *date of Baptism* on it.

I would think you can get it done at one of the bigger Christian Book Stores.

If that turns out to be too expensive then I think a Bible cover would be just fine.

Me again: just read your profile, don't worry about what a gift costs hon just do it from your heart. I am sure what ever it is, she will cherish it.

God Bless...

a personalized bible...a personalized book bag....some jewelry, clothes....or money..with a card...
Some make up cards and poems to express how they have been an inspiration to the rest.
