No one saw him do it (he thinks) and so a few hours after leaving his friend called and asked if he hit it and he just said no. The cops were involved however, a few days later his friend called the police station to see if anything was going on and the police just said the case was closed. Hes afraid he can still get into trouble? Is it possible for him to get into trouble after the case was closed? If so, how?

Probably he won't get into trouble, this time, but I would immediately stop associating with such shady character.

After all, if he can't stop and apologize and take responsibility for something he did to his FRIENDS (you did say it's at his friend's house), what CAN you expect him to do with ANY responsibility at all?

Cops aren't going to do the full CSI thing and get paint chip analysis and all that for just a dent. Let your ex-friend know that he's lucky, but you're severely disappointed in his amoral behavior.

Definitely. It's called a hit and run. It would have been better for him to admit what he did. He could get in much more trouble now. But if it wasn't that bad of an accident he probabaly won't get in too much trouble. But it also sounds like he is in the clear. They wouldn't of closed the case if they had a suspect. Remember though, the police have much more important stuff to deal with than fender benders.

I hope your friend has someone set there car on fire while its parked with no occupants. What a slimy jerk.

How can someone live with themselves with a conscious like this? How can you have kids one day and tell them they their father is a good person knowing you care about no one but yourself?

I hope you friends lays in bed at night thinking about the day the cops show up at this door arresting him for a hit and run. b/c it could come anyday.

If someone tells the police and they have reason to open the case again.

Because this was on private property you could get paid from the homeowners insurance for damages to your vehicle if they have that coverage.

Otherwise I think the case is closed.
