I am not sure, I would imagine as not long as like you said the floor is dry and she cannot drink any... but how funny....I have never heard of that one....cat's must be very particular to odours, mine if my dog does not finish his food, will find a stray sock or carry-able towel type item and put it in the dog dish in an attempet to cover it up, my vet just said I have a strange cat!

Sorry, this may be a bit lengthy, but I hope I can help.
As a previous person responded, bleach is a poison to both cats and animals, so any contact with it, rinsed or not, can be harmful. And, if your floor still smells like bleach, then there is bleach still on the floor, whether you can see it or not. Tile and other flooring materials can absorb different chemicals, or even simply spilled kool aid or juice (ever have a white counter top or flooring, spill something red on it and even if you wipe it up immediately, have it still leave a ring? It's the same principle- the materials on the counter, the floor, your furniture, etc. are all porous and therefore, they absorb what is put/poured onto them). When your cat rubs on the floor, the residue from the bleach will get onto her fur and she will most likely lick it off, as cats often do. When my cat started licking the drains after I would clean the bathtub with bleach, or rolling in it like your cat does, I switched cleaners. For the kitchen and bathroom, I suggest using Lysol Hard Surface cleaner- it is safe enough to use on food surfaces without rinsing afterwards and is both child and pet-friendly. Now, it is not a stain remover (it is a cleanser/disinfectant), so for stains on your floor or counters you will probably have to pre-scrub, but I've learned that using one of those sponges with the brillo pad type material on one side or simply a scrub brush for the most part will eliminate that issue. Or, use the bleach on the spots that need it but make sure you douse the area thoroughly. I guess a better way to put it is, if you dipped a spoon in poison and then ran water over it for a few seconds, a minute or so, whatever, would you still put it in your mouth? Probably not. Cats are very similar. A poison to them is still a poison, even in small traces.

Cats are attracted by strong smell, so i think that is the reason why it does that!! maybe it won't kill it but it can make it very ill, rinse the floor well or change cleaning product.
Ciao

I wouldn't worry unless you're using a very strong bleach solution and it's still wet. If she can get it all over her fur and then lick it off, it's probably not the best thing. Getting trace amounts of diluted bleach isn't all that bad, as far as I know. I've had it splashed into my mouth a couple times and never suffered any ill effects. If she really likes it that much and seems attracted to it, I would just be careful that she doesn't have access to the bleach bottle or any undiluted bleach.
Maybe you could distract her with some catnip! Cats love that, and it's all natural and good for them.

use a pine disinfectant you do not need to bleach floors. bleach contains ammonia and chlorine both are poisons. the rason your cat rubs herself over the floor is they think a giant tom cat has piddled on the floor and she is trying desparately hard to rescent with her smells. the reason for this reaction is the ammonia ever smelled a non fixed tom cat wee you'll get my meaning. on all my hard floors i use vinegar every day and once a month disinfectant. to do the vinegar dilute 1 part vinegar to two parts water. this will also take stains out of surfaces. i have a lot of allergies to chemicals so from experience i know this works. lemon juice is also good for cleaning both of these are natural chemicals so won't harm animals or the environment.

I remember reading that they like window cleaner as it is sweet (but deadly)to them, maybe this is similar.
As long as you've rinsed well she should be fine. Check the Purina website for info on harmful stuff (plants etc) If in doubt ask vet. I'm sure you love your cat, there are some silly people out there ;)

Yes. It drives them crazy. I put some in the toilet to clean it and closed the lid and every cat in the house was trying to get in there. I had to hurry up and flush it. Please make sure that your cat does not get any on her paws or lick it off of the floor. It is very toxic.

Why are you bleaching your floor????
If you aren't rinsing it thoroughly, yes, it could hurt your cat. Bleach is poison. If she gets it in her fur and licks it off, it could seriously harm her.

I wouldn't think it would be good for her at all....If she's rubbing on it and then licks her fur; she's ingesting that chemical.
Call someone who will know this answer for you so that you know she's safe..Best of luck..
