Hi

Following on from the previous answerer, if you want to go to Windermere for M&S or Next, you would be well advised to stay at home. I'm not being rude but Windermere is full of tourists (who don't understand the lakes) and it gets packed.

I'd suggest that you go to the shops the week before you want to go to the lakes then spend your time in Keswick or driving along the mountain roads. It is less exhausting on your credit card and so much more rewarding!!!!

Hope this helps

Happy Shopping!!!

Dean

Windermere is a quaint, picturesque tourist town and you won't find many 'high street' shops there. You'll need to travel to Kendal, 7 miles away, to get those sorts of shops.

last time we went to windermere/lake district my husband and daughter had to buy new shoes because theirs got soaked through by the wet weather (i was clever enough to take a change of footwear) there was only one shoe shop in the village most places were either for eating or selling tourist bumpf take what you need and shop before arrival - good luck
