You aren't too young to have a good protein powder. The best brands have no sugar and are low in fat. Whey protein is probably the most popular, and it's derived from milk. It should contain lots of vitamins and minerals as well. I personally like Optimum Whey from ON, which you can order online at www.bodybuilding.com or get from some grocery stores. Any reputable brand is fine and should be relatively comparable - MetRX, Biochem, Prolab, AST, ON, etc...

Most of your protein should actually come from whole food sources such as lean poultry, beef and fish. Stay away from the fast food and you'll be fine. Protein powders are meant only to supplement a healthy diet.
