Do whatever the vet said to do. Dogs are very resident and usually bounce back from a stroke faster than humans. Just give her time and a lot of love. All the best;^)

Dogs with strokes are sometimes left with a slight tilt in their neck, and it doesn't seem to bother them. You don't say when this happened, but give her a few weeks to settle. A stroke is a bit scary, but most dogs recover well from them. Add an egg yolk to her food....older dogs (despite what people think) need a high protein diet to fight off the ravages of old age, bless them. You can also add some offal to her food....not at the same time as the egg yolk. One day give her an egg yolk, another day a small amount of liver, another day a small amount of kidney, etc. Also two smaller meals a day rather than one.

Give her a hug from me!! :-))))

She looks sad because, chances are, she's in pain. Keep her resting, don't let her jump up or anything. Try to gently rub her neck. Consult a vet;; she could have a neurological/spinal injury because of the stroke. I had a dachshund that had a stroke and after that, his head was tilted a bit as well, and he went slightly blind. Yoou need to make sure he is relaxed, and make sure to give him water. Get him canned food and put some warm water in it, then try to coax him to eat. If he refuses, call the vet immediatly.

Dogs don't have strokes the same as people. She may not be ok. Has a vet seen her yet? If she's not eating and this just happened, there is something seriously wrong. Go to an emergency hospital. At her age it's not good when something like this happens.

The best thing you can do for your dog is find a vet qualified to do acupuncture and chiropractic treatments on dogs. I've taken 2 of my greys, one of whom is in pretty serious pain from compressed discs in her neck and the results are amazing. I don't know, of course, if they can help your dog, but it's definitely worth the cost of a visit to find out. Good luck with her!
