He's officially listed at 5'9" but in reality he's closer to 5'5". He's shorter so it helps in weight reduction, but is listed taller so as to appear to have no advantage over the other drivers. The only problem is he needs a booster seat to see the track better which was custom built for him out of carbon fiber to also help with weight reduction.

Having gotten a T-shirt signed by him, I bet he's 5'7" to 5'9". Just like jockeys, drivers tend to be short, the better to fit and maneuver in the car. Big guys like Michael Waltrip and Elliott Sadler are rare.
