Every night there is a man in my dreams who has extraordinary power. He realizes I am dreaming and has even confronted that. He's evil, I feel it when he hurts me. This has been going on for atleast three years.

I have been to psychiatrists and they have no answers. My dream changes nightly. I have tried banishing and waking up but I go back to sleep and he's waiting. He even comments about the time I was gone. He is the same but he changes in his appearance. He sometimes appears as a very beautiful man, as people that I love, and sometimes as just an entity. I understand it's just a dream, I'm not dillusional, but he is a very real entity. I thought I banished him a few times but he comes back angrier, and more devious.

What does the man look like? Do you know who he is? Where are you guys at in the dream? Is the dream the same every time? Does it change every year? Has the dream changed on a holiday? Ask yourself these questions and see if you can find anything in the dream that is familiar or connects to your real life. After you wake up from the dream, do not do anything except think about the dream and remember it as much as you can. Write what you remember in a journal for as long as you can. This might help if you then take the journal to a place where they interepret your dreams. Try to find a place where they do that dream interpreting stuff. Good luck!

You need psycho-analysis. You need an expert psychiatrist's help.
I shall try some explanation my way. ( I am not an expert) You would have had some bad experiece from some one near and dear to you. May be at an age when you were too young, you would have experienced some abuse. You would have been in a semi-conscious stage. So it would not have reflected in your awaken state. But something that had happened may not have been to your liking and you would have been in a total state of helplessness. This has gone deep into your mind. He was a man who checked on you that was why he was aware of your awaken timings and all. He had authority on you . That is why he has extraordinary powers. He was evil becasue he is doing something which he is not supposed to do. This may be the situation.
How to come out of it? You need a helper. Find out somebody who is close to you and whom you can trust. Find out a doll similar to the image that you see in the dreams. Assume that doll to be the person in your dreams.Every night, before you go to sleep, You and your helper should take the doll, Tie it to a place from where it cannot escape. Say loudly at least 20 times that you have tied the person who comes in your dreams and torment you. If you want you can beat it also. Your helper should reassure you about this. .
Then retire to bed. Lie down. Close your eyes. Count 100 to one. See that you are totally relaxed. You should not feel any presssure in your body. At that relaxed state of mind say at least 20 times that you will not have anymore bad dreams because the reason no more exist. Then sleep.
I am sure this will have tremendous result. All the best.

Its just a dream. Ive had ppl aknowledge Im alseep when I am...
Although when it comes to the pain that worries me
I used to have pain in my dreams and it was actual pain. Then I started having pain for no apparent reason like I was being stabed or somthing while I was awake. What it was, was that my pain recepters where basicly dieing. You might want to have that checked out. If you dont soon you wont be able to feel pain. And as someone who knows what thats like, it might sound fun but it sux!

Were you abused in your young life, or are you being abused now? That might account for the image of a man who has too much harmful power over you. I agree that counseling might help you bring these bad feelings to the surface so that you can deal with them.

it is your dream. you are in control, so this is something you want to experience or feel that you should experience.
But as I said, you are in control. Take back your dreamworld and fight him, banish him. You will win if you want to.

In three years you couldn't make this guy disappear?
Then he is real in your life somewhere. Try a psychiatrist...unless you don't want to get rid of him.
