The messenger(Peace Be Upon Him) of Allah said:
"You shall not enter paradise until u believe, and u shall not believe untill u love one another. Shall I not inform you of something, if u were to act upon it, you will indeed achieve mutual love for one another? spread the greeting amongst yourselves."(Muslim 1/74)
Ammar (May Allah Be Pleased With Him) said: Three characteristics, whoever combines them, has completed his faith: to be just, to spread greetings to all ppl and to spend (charitably) out of the little you have."(Al-Bukhaari with Al Fath 1/82)
Abdullah Ibn Amr(MayAllah Be Pleased With Him)
reported the a man askedthe Prophet(May Allah bestow Peace Upon Him): "Which Islaam is the best?" . He (May Allah bestow Peace Upon Him) replied:
" Feed (the poor), and greet those whom u know as well as those whom you do not." (Al-Bukhaari with Al-Fath 1/55 and Muslim 1/65)

Jesus said the first & greatest commandment is to Love the LORD thy God with all your heart, mind, soul & strength. The second is to love others like yourself & to love even your enemies. Bare ye one anothers burdens & so fulfill the law of Christ.

There is worldly wisdom & wisdom from God. This is a worldly wisdom comment that love is1/2 of wisdom.

Reason and understanding is at least half of wisdom. Love is an emotion we feel. It does motivate us to do things for other people. However, really it is the value we have for each other and our ability to understand how each other feels that allows us to have compassion for each other. When we identify others as ourselves, we understand more the need to help each other.
