The phrase Totum est providentia is at the top of our family's crest...does anyone know what it means? Or how could I find out?

Providentia has different meanings.
It means foresight, foreknowledge, providence-
I would translate the sentencs as
Foresight (or providence) is all

All is providence.

I would guess that could be interpreted as "all things come from providence."
