Wouldn''t the all powerful omniscient being be quite amused that people need to worship him. God has everything so why does he even require thanks?
Please enlighten me.

Lesbi, if we are appreciating ourselves, then wouldn't it make sense to thank ourselves? Or if we were to thank people we would thank everyone around us like our friends and family, but leave God out of it.

Sempar, you say that God desires praise. But if God has everything why does he even want anything from people?

Nobody needs to worship him! Nobody! Example: A king rules over a country, the peope go on with their lives and work. Some of them waste their time making banners and worshiping him. They go up to him and kiss him on his feet, He says: STOP WASTING YOUR TIME! I'm here to watch over you , not for you to worship me! go on and work and don't worry about who is watching over you.
Anyways, I think we are wasting time to go to church even though god is real. We need to go on with our lives and not worry about who is up there and to make him happy. He is always happy with you and remember, Spread the Love he spreads through you.

Dad, the trillionaire want to be thanked by his little daughter after he buys her a candy. God created man in his true image. The trillionaire is only acting in tandem with his creator. And man worship God to seek His favors just like on earth the lesser man will worship the earthly almighty for favors.

Good point.
Thanking God was invented by religious leaders to take people's gratitude away from those who actually help them and pool it for the benefit of the ruling political and religious leaders.
I don't want someone to 'pray for me' if I help them. I'd appreciate their commitment to help me or someone else one day, for example, a lot more.
Gratitude to an unseen, unknown entity is totally foolish, imo.

god is fancy character from tribal out dated books written and re written by men generation after generation before they come to use the best tool called science. Dumb ego headed donkey type parents will give the venoms religion to their children without knowing the out come of it at a later stage. Most of the religion books are full of donkey stories which don’t make any sense at all....

Mark Twain has a wonderful quote about this.
"Man is a marvelous curiosity...he thinks he is the Creator's pet...he even believes the Creator loves him; has passion for him; sits up nights to admire him; yes and watch over him and keep him out of trouble. He prays to him and thinks he listens. Isn't it a quaint idea."

God doesn't NEED. He desires that you and I will maintain a relationship and fellowship with Him. We were created by Him in His image for His Glory. He desrves more than Thanks. He deserves Praise because He loved the world so much that He gave His Only begotten Son. That whosoever believes in Him shall NOT perish, but have eternal life. Amen!

What, are you kidding me? God is up there busting his hump for us 24/7. We don't have a few seconds each day to give thanks?
