I always rise above it. I'm too strong a person for otherwise. I don't need a crutch because I'm a survivor all on my own.

We call on our inner strength just like theists do. All human internalize when in distress, and are more likely to talk to themselves or think out loud. Theists just direct it outward, declare that they're talking to "God," and call it prayer. That's really the only difference.
