When my friend's pc starts up this error message appears: "The application has failed to start because mfc71.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix the problem".
She has no CD to re-install. We believe this was caused by a virus.

When ever you have a missing DLL file, just type it into Google and follow the link to download it. After you have the file downloaded, copy it and paste it into both the System and the System 32 folders. You will find them in My Computer/"C"/Windows.

and

Try the following steps:
1. Boot into Windows Safe Mode (May or may not need to do this)
2. Open Add/Remove Programs
3. Uninstall "Dell Wireless WLAN Card"
