Serious relationship? 18. Thats when you truly know what love is.

When you think you are ready for that. There is no age for such thing. My daughter is your age nearly (she will be 13 this summer) and she has a boyfriend. They have been together 2 years now. They love each other and are always together. If you are mature enough and think you can handle it, then there is nothing wrong with having a relationship. My daughter and I had this conversation before and she told me she wouldn't have sex till she is 18 which is ok cause she'd be a legal adult. I'd say wait till you are ready. Be friends first and get to know each other and go from there so long as you don't go too far. Take care of yourself and God Bless you sweetheart!

A lot of people here answering this question seem to equate dating and sex and they are giving you bad advice. You apparently do not. If you mean by "dating" going out with boys for social activities such as going out for pizza or a movie or something (as long as it's not to a motel room or his (or your) bedroom, it's whenever it feels right.

As long as you stick with boys at or near your own age you're okay. Watch your "feminine intuition," if a boy sounds like he's had practically every girl in the school that he could or he might mistreat you, stay away from him. If you get bad vibes, don't be around him. If you're of any reasonable attractiveness you'll get lots of attention from boys, so don't allow those who are nasty or mean to be in your circle of friends.

And if and when you do decide that you're willing to let a boy have sex with you, don't be too quick, but if you've known him for a while, and you really feel right with him, don't necessarily discard it because other people think it isn't. Some women look back and think they gave in too soon or should have waited. But you've got lots of time to think about it and see how boys act around you.
